This building is supposed to have been used as reception hall during the Jaipur reign and probably that is why it is Mubarak Mahal. In early days at the order of Mughal Emperor Akbar, Mahabharata, Shahi-Ramayana, Surpadawali etc. famous manuscripts were displayed here.
